• Project Name: Nasinu Courthouse

Cope Construction was entrusted with the delivery of the Nasinu Courthouse, a landmark judicial development designed to meet the growing demand for justice services in the Suva–Nausori corridor. The project broke ground in 2018 and represented a major investment in Fiji’s legal infrastructure, with construction planned over a 60-week program.

Cope Construction executed a complex build that brought together multiple specialised facilities under one roof. The courthouse accommodates:

  • Four courtrooms, including multi-functional spaces for High Court criminal trials.
  • Four tribunal rooms and dedicated Magistrates’ chambers.
  • Supporting spaces such as a Magistrates’ common room, library, archives, server rooms, exhibit and witness rooms, audio/visual room, and assessors’ rooms.
  • Eight secure cell blocks, a fully equipped sick bay, and a service yard.
  • Staff support offices and a dedicated car park for accessibility and convenience.

Throughout construction, Cope Construction managed the complex logistics of integrating specialist security, audio-visual, and support systems, while maintaining the durability and functionality expected of a modern justice facility.

The Nasinu Courthouse stands as a testament to Cope Construction’s ability to deliver highly specialised institutional projects, balancing robust structural design with the operational needs of Fiji’s judicial system.
